Cape Coral police arrest teen suspect in vehicle burglary spree

CAPE CORAL, Florida — A teenager was arrested after a series of vehicle burglaries in northwest Cape Coral, according to the Cape Coral Police Department. The arrest followed a coordinated effort involving a K9 unit, UAV, and helicopter support.

On October 18, 2025, at approximately 5:24 a.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in progress. A Cape Coral Police detective, alerted by her home security system, observed an individual attempting to open the doors of her locked police vehicle and several others in the area through video surveillance. She contacted dispatch, and officers quickly established a perimeter.

The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Jlishawon Daniels, was spotted walking near the reported burglary site. When approached, Daniels fled on foot but was quickly detained. Upon his detention, he was found with a quantity of cash, including forty-nine $2 bills matching currency reported missing by one of the victims…
