Investing in community health: City of Fort Myers’ Parks & Rec on the move

A year ago this month, City of Fort Myers residents approved an up to $75 million General Obligation Bond (G.O. Bond) to fund our Parks & Recreation Master Plan. More than two-thirds of voters said yes—a clear sign that our community values parks and recreational opportunities as a vital element of our quality of life. We thank you for investing in our shared future!

The vote launched the most ambitious parks and recreation investment in our city’s history. Informed by input from more than 2,300 residents, the 10-year, multi-phase plan is on the move, with seven projects in the first phase: City View Park, Golf View Park, Shady Oaks Park, Dunbar Park and Tarpon Park, as well as two Lee County School District collaborations at Fort Myers Middle and James Stephens Elementary.
