Cape Coral Roofing Company Owner Arrested for Alleged $1 Million Customer Theft

Reife Petersen, owner of JKS Construction and Engineering in Cape Coral, Florida, was arrested on charges of theft. State authorities allege Petersen accepted payments for roofing projects that were not completed. One case involves more than $31,000 from homeowner Whitney Christy after Hurricane Ian, with no work or materials provided.

Petersen faces 20 felony charges, including grand theft and insurance fraud. Investigators report 24 instances of alleged fraud. Authorities state that money was moved through a company called RG Worldwide. Petersen’s attorney says most funds were used for business purposes and plans to enter a not guilty plea.
