What is the obsession with the word, Legacy?

As the American population has aged and become more worried about how they might be remembered, that term has increasingly been in play, according to summer research commissioned by Ethos Technologies, which studies consumer behaviors and mindsets as part of trying to sell you insurance.

That might explain why its usage has grown close to 300% since 1965 and nearly doubled since 1990, according to the Etymonline database that pulls from various publications and other world sources. But both the late William Shakespeare. in his “All’s Well That Ends Well” play, and today’s poetic lyricist, Taylor Swift, said no need to fret if you live life right: Honesty is a start, and “being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind,” Swift said…
