Residents, pets escape Peachland Boulevard fire in Port Charlotte early Saturday morning

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — A house fire broke out early Saturday morning on Peachland Boulevard in Port Charlotte, but the residents and their pets were able to get out before crews arrived.

According to Charlotte County Fire & EMS, crews were dispatched at 12:11 a.m. and when they arrived, heavy smoke was seen coming from three sides of the home.
