Driver takes plea in bicyclist’s hit-and-run death that took year to piece together

A Fort Myers woman changed her plea in the hit-and-run death of a bicyclist that took authorities nearly a year to piece together.

Ninoshca Nieves, 29, on Nov. 10 pleaded no contest to leaving the scene of a crash involving death and was sentenced to seven years in prison, followed by eight years of state probation.

The discovery of a bicycle on the Caloosahatchee Bridge and finding of a body in the water below on Sept. 25, 2023, led to Nieves’ arrest nearly a year later in August 2024…
