State troopers say a Florida man is accused of fatally shooting his two brothers during a dispute at a remote hunting cabin in Allegany County.
New York State Police investigators in Amity report that 65-year-old Scot Thompson, of Englewood, Florida, was arrested Monday and charged with two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of first-degree criminal use of a firearm.
Troopers were called to a disturbance on Botsford Hollow Road in the town of Allen late Sunday night. When they arrived, they found 70-year-old Mark Thompson of Canterbury, Connecticut, and 69-year-old David Thompson of Port Charlotte, Florida, dead inside the property.
According to state police, the three brothers had been sharing the cabin when a fight turned violent. During that confrontation, Scot Thompson allegedly fired a rifle, killing both men. He then left in one of the victim’s vehicles, triggering a regionwide alert to law enforcement…
