On Nov. 21, FGCU hosted its second annual Disaster Day Interprofessional Simulation event on campus. More than 950 individuals attended this event.
At the center of the training are more than 275 FGCU health and human services students who are learning from experts on how to respond in a real-life disaster. Our students are the community’s future nurses, physician assistants, physical and occupational therapists, mental health counselors and social workers.
As part of this drill, Marieb College of Health & Human Services’ students learned from FGCU faculty and area first responders on how best to assess, diagnose, treat and care for patients in a high-pressure emergency scenario.
