Cape Coral woman arrested for retail theft and multiple felonies

CAPE CORAL, Florida — A Cape Coral woman with a history of retail theft was arrested after allegedly committing theft at a local Target store and being found with multiple active felony warrants. Melissa Ann Chase, 38, was detained by police on November 25, 2025, according to the Cape Coral Police Department.

On November 5, 2025, at approximately 4:39 p.m., police responded to a reported retail theft at the Target located at 1890 NE Pine Island Road. Chase, identified by her distinct blue and purple hair and multiple tattoos, reportedly used a barcode from a $0.99 item to pay only $2.97 for goods valued at $44.47, resulting in a loss of $41.50 to the store.
