Sons of AMVETS helps Veterans Village residents

PUNTA GORDA — Veterans, businesses and members of the Englewood and North Port community opened their hearts recently to dozens at the Veterans Village in Punta Gorda.

Just before Thanksgiving, David Dawson, Sons of AMVETS Post 777 commander in Englewood, worked with several businesses to help veterans in transition from homelessness.

“We delivered four pallets of food purchased from Walmart Neighborhood Market in North Port,” Dawson said. “Store manager Dale Graham and her awesome employees shopped, packaged and assisted us in loading a lot of products.”…
