First responders rappel down Golisano Children’s Hospital for Porche & Friends Parade

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Lee County’s first responders clocked in for their part-time job as Santa’s elves at Golisano Children’s Hospital for their ninth annual Porche & Friends Parade on Saturday.

Crews from the Iona-McGregor Fire District, Estero Fire Rescue, Bonita Springs Fire Control and Rescue District and South Trail Fire Protection and Rescue Services could be seen rappelling down the side of the hospital dressed as elves and tapping on patients’ windows.

The parade, helping to raise funds for the new Golisano Pediatric Surgery Center, featured participants who were escorted by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Holiday gifts to patients at the hospital were delivered…
