Lee County Sheriff’s Office to fine drivers who illegally pass stopped school buses

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A new safety program begins on Monday in Lee County that will fine drivers who illegally pass a stopped bus.

According to an email from the School District of Lee County, the new safety program is designed to protect students as they get on and off the school bus.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office will begin issuing citations to any driver who illegally passes a stopped bus, with the fine being $225, the email said…
