Ambulance, Tesla wreck is 1 of 3 crashes at Fort Myers intersection in one afternoon

South Trail Fire & Rescue crews responded to three separate crashes at the same Fort Myers intersection on Friday, Dec. 12. All three crashes took place near the intersection of Crystal Drive and Metro Parkway.

The first crash involved an Ambitrans ambulance T-boning a four-door Tesla. According to South Trail Fire & Rescue officials, the Tesla driver was declared a “trauma alert” and was transported to a medical facility. The ambulance had two medical professionals and a patient on board. All three were transported to the hospital.

A semi-truck side-swiped a rescue vehicle in the second crash. South Trail Fire & Rescue say the rescue unit was unoccupied at the time of the crash and only minor damage was reported. No injuries were reported…
