RIP, Batchelor Pad.
Batchelor Pad was the giant yacht that ended up impaled on a dock post in front of a Fort Myers Beach restaurant (formerly Bonita Bill’s) during historic Hurricane Ian on Sept. 28, 2022. As the days, weeks, months and years went by after the storm, and the boat remained frozen in time, it became a must see attraction, and you could say even earned celebrity status.
The longer the Batchelor Pad stayed right where it was, the bigger its legendary status grew. Many hoped it would never go away and remain as a symbolic reminder of the word hurricane to ever hit Fort Myers Beach…
