Man sentenced for impersonating contractor during emergency

PUNTA GORDA — A Fort Myers man who was charged with contracting without a license during a state of emergency was found guilty this week and sentenced to two years in prison.

Steven David Saunders, 68, was accused of contracting to build a sunroom for a woman in Englewood following Hurricane Ian in 2024, according to court records.
