The Salvation Army of Fort Myers opens shelter ahead of Gulf Coast cold front

FORT MYERS, Fla. — In preparation for the cold weather coming to the Gulf Coast, The Salvation Army of Fort Myers will be opening its Center of Hope as a temporary warming station and shelter.

The Center of Hope, located at 2400 Edison Ave., will be open as a warming station and shelter Tuesday and Wednesday. The Salvation Army will provide a limited number of beds on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Salvation Army says individuals should arrive for intake Tuesday between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. It will reassess capacity Wednesday and continue accepting individuals as space allows…
