Citrus grove rezoning

On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., the Collier County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at the Government Center (3299 Tamiami Trail East, Naples, 3rd floor) on rezoning the 169-acre South Naples Citrus Grove at 341 Sabal Palm Road for 423 homes.

This property lies in the Florida Wildlife Corridor, borders Picayune Strand State Forest, and serves as vital habitat for the endangered Florida panther and other species. Development would increase flooding risks for nearby communities, add significant traffic, and remove one of Collier County’s last citrus groves.

Residents are encouraged to attend, sign up early for public comment, and voice concerns. Over 3,200 have signed petitions urging denial to protect wildlife, water flow, and our rural character…
