Cold front could provide some showers Sunday evening, colder week ahead

Gusty winds will make Gulf waters rough, and a Small Craft Advisory will last through Monday. In addition to rough waters over the Gulf, the risk of rip currents will also be high for the beaches.

Temperatures are expected to be average for the first half of this week with mostly dry weather. A big change comes mid-week, as a strong cold front moves across the state, bringing rain chances on Wednesday and Thursday.

Colder air will pour into the state, and by Friday, lows could be below 40 degrees as far south as Fort Myers.

A series of cold fronts will keep colder air in the forecast for at least a week…
