Re-sentencing trial underway for convicted killer Dwight Eaglin

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – Opening statements began Tuesday morning in the re-sentencing trial for Dwight Eaglin, a two-time convicted killer and former local boxer seeking to avoid death row.

Prosecutors told the jury there are aggravating factors that warrant the death penalty for Eaglin. The defense denied those factors in their opening response.
