For Cameron DeJong and Jonathan Forehand, the decision to leave Austin, TX, was born from a desire for something different – not just a change of scenery, but a change in how they lived. They were living in a master-planned community of 800 homes in the suburbs, yet they knew exactly one neighbor. “It was the type of area where people pull into their garage and don’t go back outside,” said Cameron.
Although they were happy in Austin, Cameron and Jonathan were overwhelmed by its explosive growth and wanted a community connection they weren’t finding in Texas.
