Fort Myers Men Jailed in Florida Keys: Midnight Seat-Swap Leads To Fentanyl And Firearm Bust

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A decision to drive a Chevrolet SUV down a bicycle lane early Tuesday morning led to the arrest of two Fort Myers men on a litany of felony charges, ranging from fentanyl trafficking to illegal weapons possession.

Deputies pulled the vehicle over around 1 a.m. near Mile Marker 84 on U.S. 1 after spotting it swerving into the bike lane. According to law enforcement reports, the traffic stop took a chaotic turn before the car even came to a halt, as deputies observed the driver and passenger frantically attempting to switch seats.

It turned out neither occupant held a valid driver’s license, and both were identified as convicted felons…
