In the early hours of Sunday, a devastating crash claimed the life of an 18-year-old man from Punta Gorda. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 1:06 a.m. on Piper Road. What was initially a routine night drive quickly turned tragic when the young man was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to navigate a curve.
The tragic outcome unfolded when his vehicle veered off the road, colliding with a utility pole and a fence, ultimately overturning.
