Developer buys 60 acres for apartments, commercial project

Waypoint Development has acquired a 60.8 acre-site in Fort Myers, where it’s planning a four-phase project comprising nearly 1,300 multifamily units and five acres of commercial development. The development company paid $35 million for the property at Daniels Parkway and Interstate 75. Cushman & Wakefield | Commercial Property Southwest Florida, which represented both parties in the deal, says in a statement that the site has an existing easement for the Three Oaks extension, an infrastructure improvement connecting to nearby residential and employment centers. Gary Tasman, CEO and principal broker at the firm, says in the statement that the project “is a $100 (million) to $200 million investment.”…
