A grocery store’s atmosphere, for the most part, is pretty bland. A big space with multiple aisles off food and other items − some very colorful − and not much else as far as fanfare.
Trader Joe’s is different, whether it’s the colorful, bold shirts the employees wear, or the frequent sound of a bell ringing − sometimes once, twice and even three times − while people are shopping.
What do the bells mean at Trader Joe’s?
According to the Trader Joe’s website, which has a design that reflects the food shopping fun the store is trying to promote, the bells are a kind of Trader Joe’s Morse code.
