FORT MYERS, Fla. — Get ready for the coldest night of the week as lows crash to record lows in the mid-30s.
Calmer wind will return Tuesday but elevated fire danger won’t ease until muggier air builds back in toward the end of the work week.
Tonight, temperatures plummet to the 30s for most of Southwest Florida. Fort Myers and Cape Coral will stay above freezing, but areas east of I-75 will drop into the lower 30s. Wind chills will reach the upper 20s Tuesday morning.
A Freeze Warning is in effect for inland portions of Southwest Florida Tuesday morning from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m.
After another day of highs in the 60s Tuesday, we’ll see a rapid warm-up through the week with a return into the 80s Thursday into the weekend.
