Lee BIA Builders Care’s popular BBQ, Bands & Brew fundraising event is returning on Saturday, March 28 at Caloosa Sound Amphitheater in downtown Fort Myers.
During the 15th annual event, Southwest Florida’s top pit masters will compete for the title of “Best BBQ in Town,” accompanied by a lineup of live performances, numerous vendors and fun-filled activities for all ages, including a children’s play area with a bounce house, balloon artist, face painting, games and more. The event will be emceed by Jason “Big Mama” Jones.
The growing list of competing pit masters includes Big Smoke BBQ & Catering, Gator Creek BBQ Company, Herb’s BBQ and Rubs, Not Your Mama’s Kitchen, Smokin’ Crow’s BBQ and The Fat Cowboys. Additional sweet treats will be available from Kona Ice.
Four bands will take the stage throughout the day, including Riverside from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Deb & The Dynamics from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m., Crossfire Creek from 3 to 4:15 p.m. and Hair Daze from 4:45 to 6 p.m.
Proceeds from the event support Builders Care’s mission to provide emergency construction services at no cost to needy and deserving elderly and/or disabled homeowners, and their families, who cannot obtain repairs through traditional means. To date, Lee BIA Builders Care has helped more than 500 Lee County households and provided over $6 million in emergency construction services and materials at no cost to families and local homeowners in need. Since its inception, the event has raised over $994,000 in support of Builders Care.
