Though there is no shortage of 32-, 36- and 39-foot Doug Wright catamarans among Fort Myers Offshore members, Justin Wagner, who purchased the brand last June, has never participated in an event produced by the Southwest Florida-based nonprofit scholarship-raising club. That will change this Saturday during the outfit’s Spring Fun Run to Three Fishermen restaurant presented by WHM Watercraft and Marine has picked up the media-backer reins.
Wagner will run his Doug Wright Powerboats 39 XTR demo-catamaran to the event. Available for rides to would-be buyers, the 39-footer will be one of three such models participating in the run.
“I have always wanted to experience a Fort Myers Offshore and now I am finally going to have the chance,” said Wagner, who had his own successful Doug Wright Powerboats/DMR demo set-up and Thursday night celebration in Coconut Grove last month during the Miami International Boat Show. “I’ve heard nothing but great things about it.
