Man gets 5 years in prison after plea deal lowers homicide charge for Caloosahatchee River boat death

ALVA, Fla. — A man pleaded no contest Monday in the case of a deadly boating incident on the Caloosahatchee River and was sentenced to spend five years in prison.

Anthony Curella reached a plea deal with the state and pleaded no contest to leaving the scene of a vessel crash or injury and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. A judge found him guilty on both charges.
