Bald eagle F23, from Southwest Florida Eagle Cam, presumed dead from car strike

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — A bald eagle named F23, which was frequently tracked on theSouthwest Florida Eagle Cam by Dick Pritchett Real Estate, is believed to be dead.

According to the eagle cam’s Facebook page, F23 had not been seen on the cameras located at the nest in North Fort Myers since Feb. 27, and on Tuesday, the page reported that a dead eagle was found less than two miles from F23’s nest, which led them to the conclusion that F23 had died.

While it is not officially confirmed, the page is moving forward with the conclusion that the female eagle, F23, died as a result of the proximity and timing of flying near Bayshore Road…
