K9 Barrett Retired from Lee County Sheriff’s Office

K9 Barrett retired after proudly serving the Lee County Sheriff’s Office alongside his handler, Detective Edward Hendricks, for six years. During his law enforcement career, the K9 completed hundreds of deployments, helping apprehend numerous dangerous criminals and keeping illegal narcotics off Lee County streets. According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, K9 Barrett had 292 total deployments and 39 apprehensions. That included 20+ narcotics arrests and 95+ narcotics deployments.

Now officially retired, LCSO said that K9 Barrett is enjoying the good life with Detective Hendricks – going on long walks, chewing on his favorite Kong, and playing in the backyard with his family.
