The Cape Coral City Council has approved a multi-phase development agreement for the Seven Islands project. This project consists of a 47-acre mixed-use development in Northwest Cape Coral, between Old Burnt Store Road on the east and the North Spreader Waterway to the west.
The Seven Islands are manmade boxes, which have remained undeveloped. A plot map shows the islands as nearly identical train-car-shaped entities.
Michael Hannon, president of the Matlacha Civic Association, explained, “The seven islands were spoils, man-made heaps created by the dredging in the 1970s that formed Cape Coral’s many canals.”…
