Senior Friendship Centers receives new grant

PORT CHARLOTTE — A grant from The Salah Foundation for Senior Friendship Centers will strengthen the SFC’s “Friendship at Home” program, according to a news release.

With the funds, Senior Friendship Center will expand assistance for low-income seniors who are unable to leave their homes across the region.

“The support will enable SFC to assemble and deliver more than 1,000 food and cleaning supply bags to older adults who are unable to shop or leave their homes independently to Senior Friendship Centers’ clients across Sarasota, Charlotte, Desoto and Lee counties,” the news release stated. “This helps ensure access to nourishment, safe living conditions, and stability for some of the region’s most vulnerable residents.”…
