Fort Myers Police Seize Meth, Fentanyl and Firearm During Motel Bust; Two Men Taken Into Custody

FORT MYERS, Fla. — A narcotics investigation at a Fort Myers motel led to the arrest of two men after officers uncovered a significant quantity of illegal drugs and a firearm during a search operation.

Authorities carried out search warrants Thursday at the Golf View Motel along U.S. 41. Following the operation, George Bankuti Jr. and Damand Crews were taken into custody. Both are facing multiple felony charges tied to drug trafficking and weapons violations.

During the search, officers reportedly recovered:

  • Approximately 104.7 grams of methamphetamine
  • About 13.8 grams of fentanyl
  • A LifeCard .22 caliber folding pistol
  • A pill press device
  • More than $2,500 in cash
  • Drug packaging supplies and related paraphernalia
