AWENDAW, S.C. – The Florida Gulf Coast University men’s golf team opened play at the Hootie Intercollegiate on Sunday, finishing the first round in seventh place at 10-under par at Bulls Bay Golf Club.
FGCU opened the Hootie Intercollegiate with a balanced and steady performance across the lineup, highlighted by Brett Moore’s 4-under 68 and Nolan Harper’s 3-under 69, as both players combined for 10 birdies. Sacha Ruiz added a 2-under 70 with 14 pars, while Sebastian Gamboa posted a 1-under 71 and tied for the second-most pars in the field with 15, showcasing consistency throughout the round. Christian Figueredo rounded out the lineup with a 4-over 76.
