PUNTA GORDA — Charlotte County’s quest to become a leading provider of skilled aviation mechanics took off in a big way this week, as the Charlotte Technical College’s new Aviation Training Facility opened for business at the Punta Gorda Airport.
The gleaming white walls, spotless gray floor and pristine work stations were the scene of a dedication ceremony and open house Monday night.
The nearly 20,000-square-foot hangar and classroom center will soon be populated by instructors and students getting busy with hands-on training on their way to becoming Aviation Maintenance General Technicians and Aviation Power Plant Maintenance Technicians…
