WATCH: Deputies rescue 11 after large wave capsizes boat off Florida coast

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — A pontoon boat with 11 people on board overturned near Fort Myers Beach on Tuesday, leaving 2 people injured, according to footage from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

LCSO’s marine unit received a call about an overturned boat, leaving 11 people stranded in water around 2:10 p.m.

Deputies responded to the boat within three minutes of the call, LCSO said in a Facebook post.

Deputies and good Samaritans rescued all 11 occupants from the water, according to the sheriff’s office. LCSO said two people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries…
