PUNTA GORDA — An inmate at the Charlotte Correctional Institution was released from prison this week, but moved to the Charlotte County Jail, where he awaits trial, accused of stabbing another inmate with a homemade weapon.
He had served his sentence but the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office had a hold on him, meaning he left prison and then went to jail.
