VIDEO: Florida driver speeds by stopped school bus as student tries to cross street

LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida driver was caught on camera speeding by a stopped school bus as a student tried to cross the street.

The video of the close call, captured on March 25, showed a student quickly stopping in front of the school bus on Kelly Road to prevent being hit by a van driver who didn’t stop.

“The only thing that prevented tragedy was the awareness of this student,” the Lee County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook. “Let this be your reminder: slow down, stay alert, and always stop for school buses.”
