Road Work on Estero is Underway

The Lee County Department of Transportation has officially started work on Estero Boulevard from Estrellita Drive to Crescent Street. The work is scheduled to be completed in Fall 2027. The project cost is approximately $9 million.

The project includes repairs of damaged asphalt, curb and gutter, sidewalk, pavement, pedestrian handrail, school flashers, pedestrian signals, as well as the removal and replacement of the pervious paver drainage facilities. The contractor will also replace ADA ramps and detectible warning surfaces.

Crews are beginning work at the south end of the project due to seasonal congestion to the north. Where possible, the contractor is limiting work zones to ensure pedestrian connectivity along Estero Boulevard.
