North Fort Myers man accused of topping 100 mph in a 40 mph zone on Bayshore Rd

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — A North Fort Myers man was arrested on Sunday after being accused of driving more than 100 mph in a 40 mph zone.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of US-41 and Bayshore Road when they saw a red Mercedes-Benz C250 traveling at what appeared to be a high rate of speed.

The deputy utilized their radar and clocked the car at 110 mph in a 40 mph zone, LCSO said. The deputy immediately began pursuit and pulled the car over near the intersection of North Cleveland Avenue and Pine Island Road…
