Outrage over teacher cuts and proposed budget changes is moving to the streets Wednesday evening, with a protest planned outside Lee County school district headquarters.
The protest is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. outside the School District of Lee County offices at 2855 Colonial Blvd. in Fort Myers.
Parents, teachers and residents who organized the protest say they are concerned about teacher and staff non‑renewals, proposed program cuts, the future of arts education and the relocation of students from Buckingham Exceptional Student Center.
