FORT MYERS, Fla. — A Gulf Coast Weather Impact Day is in place for Saturday night.
A line of showers and storms continue to push towards the Gulf Coast this evening. This line of storms will be on the doorstep of Desoto and Charlotte Counties as early as 8p.m.
Heavy rain, frequent lightning, and winds up to 60 mph are expected as this line moves quickly towards the southeast. Severe weather is possible as small hail and even a waterspout are possible.
As the sun sets, the line of storms will lose some energy and the intensity of the showers and storms will wind down through the nice. This line will approach areas of Cape Coral and Fort Myers before midnight.
A Gulf Coast Weather Impact day is also in place for Sunday, as another round of storms are expected Sunday evening.
