FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Allen County Sheriff’s Department is increasing bike patrols as electric bikes grow more popular in the area.
The department says certain e-bike classifications are allowed on trails while others aren’t.
“If it is classified as a Level 1 or a Level 2 e-bike, those are perfectly safe to be on our trail system,” Robbins said. “The Level 3 e-bikes, those are the ones we start to see a little bit of problems with. And then the bigger concern are ones that are actually not even e-bikes.”…
