FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The scene of a downed aircraft near Lutheran Hospital is all part of a simulation.
The realistic training on the southwest Fort Wayne campus may raise concern from passersby, but Lutheran said Monday it’s a week-long planned emergency preparedness exercise. First responders with the Lutheran Air & Ground team are practicing what to do at the scene of a plane crash. They’ll end the week with renewed hands-on experience in incident command, rescue operations, patient care, and interagency coordination.
Training began at 8 a.m. Monday but will begin at 6 a.m. from Tuesday to Friday. The exercises last until 3:30 p.m. daily…
