FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – It’s a welcome sight for Waynedale residents and commuters: a stretch of southbound Bluffton Road that had been blocked off for months was reopened this week.
In February, NIPSCO crews were tasked with installing a natural gas line on the heavily traveled road between Old Trail and Winchester roads. The work on Bluffton Road was originally expected to wrap up in April but lasted until the end of June.
The construction impacted access to businesses such as The Stand and Waynedale Cafe, but dedicated customers navigated the detours to support local.
The project continues on Old Trail Road, however. A closure affects neighbors between Bluffton Road and Liberty Drive. The city confirmed that area is estimated to open back up in mid-August…
