ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — A woman accused of hitting and killing a wheelchair-bound man on Coliseum Boulevard while possessing meth is facing another felony drug charge from a separate case where she reportedly stole items from Meijer while also possessing meth.
The purported theft happened July 12 at the Meijer on Dupont Road. Security footage reportedly showed 45-year-old Kandice Baker only scan a couple of items despite having a cart filled with at least a dozen items.
According to Allen Superior Court documents, 12 items were stolen with a total value around $241.
A Fort Wayne Police Department officer pulled over Baker’s vehicle after another officer responded to Meijer about the theft. During the traffic stop, an officer found a “clear rock-like substance” in Baker’s clothes, and a test conducted later in the day reportedly showed the substance tested positive for meth and weighed .03 ounces.
