FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Google announced on Monday morning that it has submitted a request to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management to add more than 200 additional emergency generators to its Fort Wayne data center.
The tech giant has sent in a third air permit modification application to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management to add 228 emergency generators.
In April, IDEM approved a request to add more than 140 emergency diesel generators to the data center campus following public pushback. That approval also included five smaller generators classified as “insignificant” by state law.
