Located just north of Fort Wayne along State Road 3, aka Lima Road, a lot of people pass by Huntertown without giving it much thought. However, on Saturday, Sept. 26, the volunteers at Huntertown Family Park are throwing an event that may make you check out the town.
From 10 a.m.-6 p.m., the volunteers at the park are hosting the Huntertown Mini Renaissance Faire.
“It started off with us calling it a Mini Ren Faire,” Heather Krempel said. “It’s really not quite as mini as we thought originally. Now we have artisans and markets. We have lots of food vendors, including turkey legs and mead. We have some buskers coming, and I’m super pumped about Medieval Equestrian Games. We will be having horses and they are supposed to be doing a joust.”
Learning experience
Yes, on Sept. 26, Huntertown Family Park will turn into a scene out of Robin Hood or a Monty Python movie. However, if those are the only scenes you think of, Krempel has learned the Renaissance is much larger than that.
