First Alert Weather Day: Thick morning fog causing some delays

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A First Alert Weather Day has been issued for very thick fog spreading across the region.

First Alert Weather Day: Morning Fog

Areas of fog are expanding out of northwest Ohio through sunrise, mainly along and east of I-69, where visibility could drop under a mile in spots. Several schools are already delayed this morning.

You may notice a smoky smell to this fog as a small amout of smoke has been detected in the air this morning. This is likely linked to the ongoing chemical spill issues in Toledo. Local air quality has dropped into the yellow category (Moderate) as fog continues to spread across the region.

Once the sun is up, fog clears quickly. Expect sunny skies the rest of today with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s.

Sunshine Continues

The sunny, dry streak continues into the weekend with highs near 70 — great weather to get outside. More clouds arrive late Sunday into early next week…
