FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – The Allen County Department of Health announced Friday that it will be distributing $835,000 to 13 local organizations.
The effort is part of Health First Allen County, an initiative launched in 2023 to ensure ‘a strong and stable platform to deliver Core Public Health Services prescribed by state law’.
According to the department, the grants go to organizations with services in one of the following Core Public Health Service categories:
- maternal & child health,
- student health,
- child and adult immunizations,
- access and linkage/referrals to clinical care,
- chronic disease prevention and reduction
- trauma and injury prevention and education, and
- fatality review & prevention.
